Passion. Respect. Compassion.
Why Ryrie? Everyone's family history forms an important part of their personal story. Ryrie is an old family name that hasn't carried forward to current generations. We've chosen to honour this part of our story, by bringing it back through Ryrie Consulting.
About Jennie - Founder and Chief Collaborator
Ever since Jennie was little, she always had an active (or possibly overactive) imagination. Whether exploring the local woods with friends, writing stories and poems, or playing music, her creativity has always shined through.
Her love of language began as soon as she uttered her first words. If she didn't know what something was called, that didn't stop her conveying meaning, like telling her grandma; "that bee's bee-ing", as a bee buzzed past on it's path to collect pollen from the flowers. Her grandma said she would never be short of words - and she was right.
Jennie didn't take a conventional path to higher education, but ended up completing a degree in Language Studies with the Open University. She loved studying linguistics and understands the power and importance of finding the right words. Alongside learning in depth about the English language she also studied German, which she still speaks proficiently now.
Professional experience/qualifications
Jennie's professional experience has been interesting and varied. She's worked across a wide range of industries, including technology, publishing, utilities, life sciences/healthcare, education and the arts. She's worked with senior leaders for over 15 years both as an HR generalist and as a specialist.
Her specialisms include communications, engagement, learning and development, change management and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). And her qualifications include a Masters in Internal Communication Management, Level 7 PGDip in HR Management, Editing and Proofreading Diploma, and Change Management. She's also a qualified rugby coach!
Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
Jennie helped establish the LGBTQ+ network in a global organisation and worked with other colleague-led groups to listen and build an understanding of the challenges and barriers that prevent EDI. She values diversity of thought and experience and brings this into her work.
She's taken the knowledge she's gained and used it to influence and support leaders, to bring about real organisational change in multiple organisations. And she hasn't stopped listening and learning.
